Timmy Thomas provides the hooky melody and funky bassline, contributing to the song's success. This 70's soul anthem runs through the entire track. 'Hotline Bling' samples 'Why Can't We Live Together' by Timmy Thomas However something that isn't commonly recognised, is the sample used throughout.
